Themed Baby Gift Giving

Whether they are close friends or distant acquaintances, it’s always nice to buy something from the heart. Where do you begin? Here are some ideas for themed gift giving.
I often find that buying gifts within a theme creates a cute package and shows thought. Even if it’s only a small gift, it shows that you’ve taken the time to come up with a cute theme and to carry it through. So, let’s begin.
Bath time! What could be more fun than bath time with a new baby? This theme can carry you through oodles of purchases. From crayons that write on the walls (ok, the baby won’t be ready for this for awhile), to safety seats to wash cloths and monogrammed towels, you can’t go wrong with this option.
Reading – Let’s get the kid reading early. A few books with a bedtime theme will get the kid ready for reading and for sleeping. Introduce them to Shel Silverstein early and they’ll love it later.
Playing – There are tons of play toys out there for kids. Go with a teething theme and get a teething ring, teething gel and a pacifier. Look for play items in black and white, which are supposed to be better for new babies who can’t distinguish between colors yet.
Food Fun – Even a new baby will eventually need a cute bib, a bowl, a spoon and a sippy cup. Make this a package the parents can put aside and love later.
Religion Matters Too – If it’s a religious family, maybe they want a christening dress, or they’d love to have a prayer book. Perhaps they’d like a framed picture of a prayer they could put in the child’s room.
These are but a few of the many ideas for themes. Pick a theme you like and have fun with it. Your card and gift wrapping can be part of the theme as well, creating an adorable package for the adorable new bundle that’s arrived!
